2025 Winter Machine Pitch League

This will be the 2nd year we have offered a machine pitch league in the colder months.  Last year we had 6 teams and the kids had a blast.  Here is a description of the league:

Age Groups 

The league consists of two divisions. We realize some players will qualify for both divisions.

• Ages 10U-12U (as of April 30 of next year)
  
• Middle School (13U-15U, 6-8 grade).

Registration 

The preferred method of registration is to register as a team. The Head Coach should let us know by text or email that they have a team. DBS will create the team on the system and then the Head Coach can invite players and coaches to be on the team. We will also try to form one or more teams of free agents. If we can get 10 free agents, we will form a team. A parent will be drafted to serve as head coach.

Rules 

·         No leadoffs, no steals, no pickoffs, no bunts.
·         Games are 1 hour. Play as many innings as you can squeeze in.
·         10 game season, no playoffs.
·         5 pitches or 3 strikes, whichever comes first.
·         League Director sets the pitching machine settings each week.
·         You can play with as few as 7 players in the field since pitchers and catchers have limited roles.
·         Coaches run the machines and call the games.
·         USSSA bats allowed.
·         We play when it is above 36 degrees. This is a lower threshold than a normal baseball game normal as the kids move more.

Costs. $600 per team for a 10-game season. $60 for individuals.

Season. We will begin play the first week of November.

Uniforms. Wear what you have. Matching uniforms are not required.
